What is Google Adsense and is it really that easy to make money online with it?
For those who do not know yet (but I’m sure you know about it now), AdSense is one of the main revenue generating program of Google. It is Google’s programs where you can host pay-per-click ads on your Website. When someone clicks an ad, you earn money. Simple as that.
It is true that Adsense is one of the most effective ways of monetizing your website traffic. It may sound easy and it is, but you will need to put your heart into it and work for it.
The truth of the matter is, the more you put effort and work into creating more pages, posts and content, and driving traffic into them, the earnings will only become higher.
How Does Adsense Work?
To make things simple, here is how Google Adsense works: Advertisers joins Adwords ( which is the Google advertising program), create their ads and those ads gets displayed in the websites that have Adsense in it. Publisher websites (your website) that are participating in Google Adsense will get ads and you make money with each click from your visitors.
The concept is very easy really. To put it simply, if someone clicks the ads that are showing in your website, you get paid.
The Adsense Mindset
It’s important to have the proper mindset before you go and get your feet wet with Adsense. Before we go deep, let me say this now that it is not a “Get Rich Quick” type of product. I cannot stress this enough – You have to put work into it, a LOT of work. I have to get that out of the way. You must know that earning money from Adsense is a long time process, but at the same time, a big opportunity for you to make a lot of cash.
Here are some things that count toward your effectively using this Adsense mindset.
- Quantity - You wake up every day, thinking that you will create yet another page for your site. Eventually, those pages will accumulate. You will have tons of great content on your site and the more you will potentially receive.
- Quality – You can’t throw garbage in your site, or you can’t copy and paste materials form someone else’s site or blog. The best content is original content. It has to reflect your niche. This means you need to use important keywords that are related to your niche.
- Long Term – Adsense is a long term process. You need to gradually build up both the quantity and quality of your pages in order to generate greater traffic to your site. The more people you have visiting your site and clicking those ads, the greater will be your earnings. If traffic is bustling in your site, you won’t have to worry about bills and other expenses because you’ll have income coming in for that month. This is all thanks to your site and Adsense.
Prerequisites and Preparations
Here is a list of things that you must have or know before you begin your journey in earning money with Adsense.
First, of course, is that you will be needing a website. You can start with a Blogger blog but I highly recommend that you get yourself a webhost account and your own domain (website name). You will be posting quality content here. Having your own domain also means that you will not lose those articles, unlike with Blogger or other free blog hosts where they have the power to take down an account with the slightest misunderstanding. It does not happen all the time, but it has been known to occur.
Next website, good quality informative content
web pages so the ads blend in with your site.
high paying keywords CPC
Google Adsense Rules and Policies
Google has a lot of prohibited practices when it comes to Adsense, and too many webmasters are finding out that they have violated Google’s policies after the fact – often because they never bothered to read the Adsense policies in the first place.
Webmasters must not only comply with Adsense policies, but their websites must also comply with Google’s webmaster policies.
The really cool thing about the Internet is the ability to have close to passive income by having sites that get natural links and stay high in the SERPs with very minimal upkeep.
traffic, no traffic, no click
Website promotion techniques, especially search engine optimization and article marketing will bring more traffic to your site.
Making a lot of money with AdSense is all about numbers. The more traffic you have, the greater the earning potential.
How do you get paid by Google Adsense
During the first few years of Adsense, the only available mode of payment is through check. Now, there are several ways a publisher can be paid by Google and one of those is through Western Union. Minimum payout is $100 but you can put the payment on hold if you want your earnings to accumulate.
Few warnings
I want to say again that Adsense is not an overnight success. You may have heard and read about success stories of people making thousands of dollars each month in doing Adsense, but the truth of the matter is, it takes a lot of work, HARD work. The good news is, if you do it right and you are consistent, you will see amazing results.
One last note: Do not rely on just one website for Adsense. Relying on one website alone is too risky. Google always updates their algorithm, which means that one day you are ranking real good, the next day you are nowhere to be found. I am saying this to you from personal experience. I have a site that is earning something like $40-$50 a day. Then one day, it just dropped from Google SERP!
Good thing I have several sites making a few dollars each day, so my Adsense money was not completely zero during that time. Sure, the earnings dropped big, but at least I still had something that I can pay my backlinking with.
Again, I think it would be too risky to rely on one Adsense website alone. Or in general, I think it’s risky to rely on Google Adsense alone for your main income.
Diversify your income streams.
When you are ready, try doing affiliate marketing as soon as you gain experience with making money online.
